Tracker eTwinning project
Written by Πολυκαρπούλου ΜαρίαPupils of STEAM class B3 participated in the eTwinning project entitled "Science using Tracker" via the European School Education Platform. In this project, they used the free Tracker video analysis software to analyze movements, measure quantities, establish the principle of conservation of momentum, calculate unknown masses using balance, and in the final collaborative activity, calculate the acceleration of gravity using a pendulum. This project was created collaboratively by 7 schools from Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Turkey. The idea of the project is that the pupils of one school set tasks/questions (with videos and pictures that they mostly create themselves) for the pupils of the other schools, who find the solutions using the Tracker software.
The benefits that our pupils gain are multiple. In addition to the experiential consolidation of physics concepts, they cultivate their ingenuity (as there is no standardized way of working), learn the Physics curriculum of other countries and get to know their European classmates, and finally, they develop ICT skills useful in their future student life and beyond.
